Books for People who Suck at Relationships
Must read books for people who suck at relationships …A book list curated by someone who sucks at relationships. There’s your warning, I’ve read these books and I’m still not good at this whole relationship thing.
Having played the dating game for a while, I feel pretty safe in saying, I’m not the only one.
While I’m still really bad at this whole relationship thing, these books have given me some much needed insight in to why I am the way I am. All that’s missing is the motivation to change it, and let’s be honest here, it’s going to take more than a few books to change that.
So, sit back, relax and enjoy some books that may or may not make help you find (and keep) your true love.
Books for People who Suck at Relationships
Why You’ll Love Them
The Five Love Languages (Singles Edition) by Gary Chapman
We’ve all heard of the 5 love languages – how to show your partner you care, how does your partner show they care about you. Singles edition is exactly what it sounds like. It discusses the ways your love language impacts your dating relationships and the way you choose a partner.
The Gifts of Imperfection and Daring Greatly by Brene Brown
If there has been an author that has influenced me professionally it’s Brene Brown. In these books she talks a lot about the power and courage behind being vulnerable. It’s hard to be content with being ourselves flaws and all, this is yet more prominent in a dating situation. These books will help you realize it’s ok to be yourself.
The Highly Sensitive Person in Love by Elaine N. Aron
This is a book I recommend to people all the time. It’s really hard to be in a relationship when you’re not entirely confident and comfortable with yourself. If you’ve been hurt before, it’s perfectly reasonable to expect to be hurt again – it’s just not the most healthy foundation to build a relationship on. This book will help you learn how to deal with your insecurities in a more productive way.
