Review:

The cover is amazing, isn’t it? It matches my blog so perfectly! Oh, and the guy is pretty attractive as well.

Oh my goodness, this book was incredible! From the very first page I was absolutely lost in this story. Ms. Shen has managed to weave an in depth tale of love and perseverance with so many amazingly creative and well-written steamy bits thrown in. I eagerly devoured every word she gave us and found myself upset when the book ended because I wanted more.

I fell in lust with Célian really quickly, in the prologue actually. Why did I fall for him so quickly? Well it wasn’t because I thought he would be my forever book-boyfriend, that’s for sure. He was confident and cocky, knew exactly what he wanted and expected to get it. He made demands, not requests. Who wouldn’t want to spend a night with someone like that? Just one night.

He even made things easy for Jude by pretending to be a french business man who needed to catch an early flight. More men should do that, skip the morning awkwardness. Although the whole thing backfired when we find out he is not a french tourist at all, but actually Jude’s new boss. So uhm, if you try to take a page from Célian’s playbook, make sure you’re not heir to a media empire.

This was a wonderful take on the enemies to lovers trope. I absolutely adored every interaction between these two. Their passion and chemistry was undeniable. Although both characters did things I didn’t necessarily like, I found myself growing to care and wanting to see them happy.

My only gripe with this story, and it’s very minor is regarding one of the twists at the end. I just don’t get why. I’m not going to spoil anything with details but if anyone has read the book and wants to talk about it, please send me a message.

I have to credit Ms. Shen, the steamy bits were plentiful I didn’t find myself bored during a single one. I appreciated the creativity in locations and the tastefully explicit way she wrote each scene.

Overall Dirty Headlines is the perfect book for someone looking to book date a demanding yet lovable alpha-male for a couple of nights.
