Three Bookish Things Tag and Blogger Recognition Award

We have a bit of a double feature today. A while ago I was tagged for the Three Bookish Things Book Tag and nominated for a Blogger Recognition Award.
So it’s a real special treat you’re going to get to know a few things about me, lucky you!

Three Bookish Things

A big thank you to Jamsu at JamsuDreams  for tagging me in this one. Go check out her blog, it’s a super fun place to be.

Three read once and loved authors
  • Emma Hart
  • Vi Keeland
  • Penny Reid

If you’re in the market for a romantic comedy – these three are winners every single time.

Three titles I’ve watched but haven’t read
Generally if I’ve read the book, I don’t watch because I know I’m probably not going to enjoy the screen version as much.
  • Stephen King (anything) I’ve watched most of the movies but never read any of his books
  • The Silence of the Lambs
  • Bridget Jones’s Diary
Three characters you love aka my favourite book-boyfriends
  • Tahoe from Ladies Man by Katy Evans
  • Keegan from Bender by Stacy Borel
  • Simon from Wallbanger by Alice Clayton
Three series binged
  • Neighbor from Hell  by R. L. Mathewson
  • Real by Katy Evans
  • Off Campus by Elle Kennedy
Three unpopular bookish opinions
*I’m pretty sure I could write a whole post about this.
  • I judge every book by it’s cover (model).
  • Issues of protection and consent need to be addressed in steamy scenes.
  • If the author uses a surprise/ oops pregnancy to fix the problems in a relationship, the book gets one star. It’s not a fair situation to put a fictional baby in.
Three current favorite book covers
  • A Song for Us by Tillie Cole
  • Holding On by Pamela Clare
  • Dirty Headlines by L. J. Shen
Three goals for the year
  • Read a couple non-romance books anyone have recommendations?
  • Figure out how to Instagram.
  • Figure out this whole socializing online thing. It’s so easy to meet people and make friends in person but online I don’t know where to start.
I tag
I wasn’t actually going to tag anyone but it looked weird not to.

No pressure.

Anyone and everyone should do this tag, let me know if you do so I can stalk your blog and read your answers.

Blogger Recognition Award

Thank you so much to Kaili at Entertainingly Nerdy who nominated me for this award. Her blog is amazing and you should absolutely go show it some love.

The rules:

  • Thank the blogger that nominated you.
  • Write a post to show your award.
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  • Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  • Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
  • Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.

How did my blog start:

Well the short version is one day in late January, I found myself with an urge to discuss adult literature. Obviously,  I made a blog because there are some things you just can’t talk about in real life.  Mostly I just complained about poorly written steamy scenes.

It was a whole lot of fun,  but eventually the wrong sort of people started finding my blog and sending me inappropriate photos. Like lots and lots of inappropriate photos. Not exactly fun. So at the end of July I packed up my blog and moved here and pretty much started over in a more family friendly direction. It’s been awesome so far.  I guess that pretty much brings us to where we are now.

Advice for new bloggers:

  1. Have fun, be yourself and let your personality shine through. I always love when people leave a bit of themselves in their reviews and posts. That’s what will make your content stand out from everyone elses.
  2. Set realistic expectations. Chances are you’re not going to make millions in your first month blogging (or even your first year) but you can have fun, learn new skills and meet lots of amazing people.

I’m not going to nominate anyone for this one. Honestly, fifteen people is a lot. But if you want to do it, consider yourself nominated. Make sure you let me know so I can read your answers.

Also, if anyone wouldn’t mind getting tagged for things like this in the future, let me know.
