Their reluctant journey to tolerating each other, the slow realization that there is more to the other person than the meets the eye.

It’s powerful to watch the couple hesitantly grow to like each other. To see them sharing and growing closer. Bully to lover tales are especially potent because of the dislike, the hatred between them. Hate is a powerful emotion, often just as powerful as love and stories starting out with a hefty dose of mutual dislike or hate, and emotionally charged history between the couple bully to lover stories can be just as enthralling as best friends to lovers or even takes of love at first sight.

A history of bullying may not be the most healthy foundation for a relationship, but it makes for awesome romantic reading.
