Review:

Look at that cover, isn’t it the sweetest! I thought so.

I love a good second chance lovers story. There’s something so uplifting hearing about people reconnecting with the one that got away, or the one they never knew they had as the case may be.

One thing I appreciated most is the maturity of the characters in this book. Although it’s never explicitly stated judging by their careers, both Tobi and Travis are in their early thirties and they act like it. While there was some angst, it wasn’t overwhelming. This book is about Tobi and Travis reconnecting, falling in love, overcoming barriers, and realizing no matter what the future may hold they’re better together.

All that said though, my absolute favorite part of the books is that the characters used condoms. I always feel weird commending authors on making their characters practice safe sex. But, I’ve heard positive reinforcement is the best way to ensure a desirable behavior continues and I hate when the characters I’ve grown to care about behave in unsafe ways.

I grew to care about both Tobi and Travis; they were very likable. As far as book-boyfriends go, Travis ticked all the boxes. He was sweet, attentive and caring. And, although he wasn’t an alpha he had no problem standing up for himself and telling Tobi when he was being stupid.

This was my first time reading a book written by Eve Gaddy and I can’t tell you why I waited so long. Worry not though, I plan to spend the weekend binge reading as many of her books as I can get my hands on.

Overall, Rebel Pilot, Texas Doctor was a quick, engaging read. I got through it in one sitting. While I had a smile on my face when the book was done, I wanted more. This is a great choice for anyone seeking a light, summer afternoon read.
