Who hasn’t heard one of those amazing celebrity romance stories and dreamed of staring in their own?
Is there anyone who doesn’t dream of falling in love with a celebrity? We all know the story, hot as heck movie star/ musician/ hockey player/ etc. meets the normal girl, they fall in love and live happily ever after. It’s a fairy tale, one we’ve probably all heard and fantasized about at some point in our lives.
But let’s be realistic for a minute – chances are I’m probably not going to meet, much less fall in love with, a celebrity. Which is fine, really, I’m over it… I live in small town Saskatchewan, there’s no celebrities here.
Regardless, a little bit of unfortunate reality isn’t going to stop me from spending my free time reading about all the ways it could happen to me. I mean if Shariah Wilson and Kelly Jamison are to be believed, all it takes is one witty and well-timed Tweet. Regardless, I’m not all that witty and I rarely tweet. *sigh*
Anyway, these celebrity romance will have you reminiscing about all the awkward celebrity crushes of your teenage years. Who was the dreamiest Backstreet Boy? Spike or Angel or maybe Xander was more your type? Dawson or Percy? My goodness, so much 90’s nostalgia.
The story of rock star and a normal girl who has been unlucky in love meet in the most awful of circumstances. As far as celebrity romance novels go this does not deliver the expected level of hearts, flowers and sunshine. Regardless, I think this is an important read that tackles some difficult topics such as depression and suicide. Fair warning, the book starts with the couple meeting on a one-way swim into the ocean. This is a story about healing and self care as much as it is about love.
This is very muchly a slow burn best friends to lovers story featuring a celebrity. While celebrities aren’t typically my book-boyfriends of choice, the blurb had me hooked. I love it when books tackle the tough topics, the things we’re uncomfortable talking about and this book did just that with depression, divorce and the long and sometimes difficult process of creating your own happiness and learning to love yourself.
This amazing story features a movie star and her best friend from childhood. I found one when I was working on a list of Lesbian Romance Novels. I had heard so many good things about this book and let me tell you, it was absolutely worth the hype. It’s a great read featuring themes of self esteem, learning to love yourself and the pain that comes with not being true to yourself.
Not going to lie here, if it wasn’t for my undying love of all things written by Garrett Leigh, this cover would have put me right off the book. But, this was one of the rare times I followed the old adage “don’t judge a book by it’s cover” and it worked it. I would love to say I’ll make a habit of not judging books by their cover (models) but ugh, that’s just not going to happen. Anyway this book features a rock star and the person hired to create a documentary about him. This MM Romance novel features themes of PTSD, illustrates the importance of trust and shows just how powerful love can be.
One of the first movie star romance novels I ever read and I can’t recommend it enough. It features a bar owner and a very famous movie star who also occasionally has panic attacks. There is two books in this series and the first one does end with a bit of a cliff hanger. It’s well worth the read and even gets a bit suspenseful towards the middle for anyone who loves romantic suspense.
There are a lot of books on this list with some pretty heavy themes. That’s because I think it’s important to read about things we would prefer not to think about. However, I also believe in the power of a good laugh and this book will have you laughing your butt off. It’s a super fun read that will have you flying through the pages with a smile on your face.
We don’t see enough transgender representation in romance novels and I think that’s a real shame. Anyway, this amazing story features a rock star and her body guard. This book features some kink and quite a lot of suspense if you’re into that.
Yes, hockey players are celebrities! If you’ve been following my Goodreads account lately you might have realized I’ve been a bit obsessed with reading books about gay hockey players. Who knows why, but this book is one of my favorite. If that’s not enough this book features one of my favorite ever kiss scenes, it’s right at the end. You’ll love it, I promise.
Tell me about your most embarrassing celebrity crush… or just tell me your favorite celebrity romance novels. I’m easy to please. Have you read any of the books on the list? Did you love them? Are there any other you would recommend?
